Commission awarded

The Tobacco Commission has been awarded by the Employers Consultative Association of Malawi as 2022 Employer of the Year in the Industrial Relations and Employee Engagement category.

The award was presented to the Commission by Malawi President Dr Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera on May 1 during Labour Day commemorations in Lilongwe.

Tobacco Commission Chief Executive Officer Dr Joseph Chidanti-Malunga who received the award on behalf of the Commission attributed the achievement to team work.

“We co-exist and collectively contribute towards our success,” said Dr Chidanti-Malunga.

The award was based on an assessment that the Employers Consultative Association of Malawi conducted in 2022.

Among others, the Commission has implemented initiatives aimed at engaging employees on various issues affecting both the organisation and personnel.
