TC must be proud – Minister

Minister of Agriculture, Honourable Sam Kawale, M.P., has called on the Tobacco Commission to be proud of its work because of its contribution to the national economy.

The minister said this on Friday when he met Management of the Commission at its head office in Lilongwe.

“TC must be proud to manage an industry that brings the most forex into the country. That forex trickles down to every sector in the country.”

The Minister also pledged continued support to the Commission, inviting the regulator to engage the Ministry of Agriculture on challenges related to the promotion of tobacco production and marketing.

In his remarks, TC Chief Executive Officer Dr. Joseph Chidanti-Malunga expressed gratitude to the Ministry for the support already being provided.

The visit by the Minister was part of his familiarisation with tobacco industry players in the country.
